The pharmacy's will claim bankruptcy and change their names and start it all over again. Congress will not do anything to allow the FDA to do anything about it. The states will continue to do nothing.

We need to protect the medical profession from these frivolous lawsuits...so a few people got sick and even fewer have died...they did voluntarily recall their product after all...

While the people dying from poisoned medicine were off working or taking care of their families the business lobby was in the halls of the law makers and arranging the laws so business could prosper and take care of everyone. The business of medicine, pharmacy and pharm manufacturing. All other industries have been doing this as well. In the course of doing this for 30 or 40 years they have totally corrupted the politicians and gubmint employee decision makers. So they not only allowed poisoned medicine to be manufactured and sold, but they grant immunity from prosecution and immunity from civil law to halep their corporate benefactors from being held responsible. They allow no flow through liability so a corproate shell game can get played. They allow secrecy agreements so people caught killing one guy can continue to operate and if they kill others the new victims families will be left to discover how, when and why as if they were the first case where it happened. They allow Doctors and hospitals to buy bulk quantities from non-certified pharmacy manufacturers. It's all about the corporations now and the top 3% who run 'em. The deciders. Make them rich no matter what, and via "trickle down" they will take care of all of you.

I, for one, am glad this came out before I went to the doctor to get a steroid shot in my hip. I'll just keep taking my tylenol until this is straightened out.

all the stories omit if/how the patients are being treated? Are they getting intrathecal anti-fungals?

i've had meningitis and seriously don't want to go through that again.....I'll hold off on the injections for my knee, thank you very much.

A freind has it. Been hospitalized. She is one of 16 in my state. They released her last week, gave her an oral prescription after 2 weeks in hospital with IV antifungal treatment. She tried to fill it and had to wait 48 hours because it had to be ordered in. So, she called the hospital, they had it but could not give it to her because she was not an inpatient. They had no beds to readmit her. She finally got the medicine but it is $4000.00 - yes four thousand dollars. She has insurance. She was told" this is safe- we do thousands of these injection" the same thing I was told but I cancelled my injection ( at a different clinic) 2 days before all this news broke. I will take my tylenol too. Pray for my friend. She is strong, she will get through the illness, but the battle wtih the medical system is totally crazy.
