Reports that a Mexican woman is pregnant with nine babies are not true, according to El Diario de Coahuila, the local newspaper in the town were the woman lives.
Mexican television stations aired interviews with Karla Vanessa Perez of the northeastern state of Coahuila, which borders Texas, where she claimed fertility treatments led to this multiple pregnancy and also that she already had triplets.
The story was widely reported by various media outlets, including msnbc.com.
But when reporters from the Mexican newspaper investigated, they learned she’s actually not pregnant at all. Her mother, Francisca Castañeda, told El Diario de Coahuila that Perez has three children, ages 15, 12 and 4 and after the last was born, had an operation to prevent her from getting pregnant again.
David Vila, a reporter with Telemundo, also contacted the office of Mexico’s Secretary of Health, which confirmed she wasn't pregnant. The office had initially reached out to her to offer to help.
José Salvador Gallegos Mata, a member of the Mexican Society of Gynecology and Urology told the newspaper that someone who would make such false claims “needs to urgently say ‘I’m here. Please look at me, I exist.'” He added, “That woman needs urgent psychological treatment.”

What a relief! I hope that the story is not true other than it is and she already crossed the border and the non pregnancy story is a lie!
hlatinachic, You must understand, this is America, a country of hate and bigotry. Just look at the Zemerman case, in my eye's he is a Mexican, no mater who his mother or father is. He looks like a Mexican, their for he is. Their is nothing wrong with being a Mexican. But he has received over $200,000 for his defence, and that is for murdering a young Black Teenager. Just the fact that he says he is white, the justice system stands on it's head for him. This country labels people to minimise or elevate their importance baced on their race.
The lady with the nine children on the border frightens Americans, without mentioning her race I guaranty most people would have assumed she was Mexican, and that is because most Americans are stressed over the border and the illegal Mexican problem. You see I grow up in Arizona and I know how Mexicans will marry a White person to lighten the skin of their children to deflect bigotry on their children. Mexicans are color bigots, White's are color bigots, Black Americans are color bigots. This is America, a country of bigots.
HER STORY IS A FAKE!!!! She has 3 kids and can not have any more. She ate too many re-fried beans and did not pass gas.
And I read this story in the New York Post Weird but True column.
Yes, so true. And the best of all, the stupid media ran the story without verification. How lame is that?
Moron sensationalism mongers.
Thank God. Can you imagine if it were true? There is no way an unmarried Mexican woman would stay on that side of the border and remain dirt poor when she just could walk a few miles, give birth to the babies here and live like a welfare queen. Over the next 18 years, she would have cost America taxpayers millions of dollars in welfare benefits. A generation from now her kids and grandkids would cost us millions more in prison and inter-generational welfare costs.
Can you ever believe, what comes out of mexico, except DRUGS
Why in the HELL dont they make the DOCTORS pay the cost of these dumb bitches getting implanted and producing so many kids, then sticking it to the TAXPAYERS to pay ...........there needs to be a LAW that you CANNOT get implanted with eggs if you are NOT MARRIED! And you cant implant more than 2 eggs EVER at one time. This @!$%# is out of control, and we, the TAXPAYERS should NOT be on the hook for these selfish idiots! MAKE THE DOCTORS PAY, not taxpayers!
And should the doctor NOT follow the rules, these damn kiids are on HIS dime!
Bet all you jumpers feel kind of foolish now. Just couldn't wait to hate...so now, April FOOLS!
BTW "Angry Mom in GA" You didn't read the story, did you. Ahem, she's NOT pregnant at all. End of discussion. Now go and sit on the couch on your front porch.
Dang the Stargate of Babies....
What ya got here is 9 little chevrons,we calls em wetback babies around these parts
erm......doesnt the article read that she made the whole thing up?? or am i just reading it wrong??
Five bucks says, she comes across the border and poops out those little rats in Texas. More welfare, viva Mexico, viva foodstamps, viva WIC, free schools, free college and public housing.
Didn't any of you even read the article? It states that the story of her being pregnant has been debunked. She was lying. A member of the Mexican Society of Gynecology and Urology told the paper, Telemundo, that someone who would make such false claims "needs to urgently say, 'I'm here, please look at me, I exist,'" and then the official added, "That woman needs urgent psychological treatment."
I must be missing something after glancing at the comments if so many people think she is pregnant with 9 or is giving birth to them soon when the article (including the headline) says not only is she not pregnant with 9, but also "had an operation to prevent her from getting pregnant again."
"let's bow our heads,I think we can all of us get behind this prayer.Oh,god PLEASE do not let this lady get to the USA!"
Okay, did I miss something as to what this article is actually about? "Claims of woman pregnant with 9 babies debunked." That's the headline I'm reading! IT'S NOT TRUE, FOLKS! So why are all of you talking about where she has her "litter," or illegal immigration or abortion or Catholicism or anything else? This woman made up the story! She can't even have any more kids! What are all of you talking about?! Hopefully they changed the headline or updated the story; I'd hate to think we're all that ignorant.
And having a baby in the U.S. does not mean the illegal immigrant parents automatically get to stay. (A friend of mine's wife is a military dependent and a legal Mexican alien.) It's true, the baby has citizenship, but the parents do not. If caught, they can still be sent back to Mexico (or where ever they're from, since 'birthing tours' are available in this country), with their child(ren). When the child(ren) turns 18, they have the option to come back and claim their citizenship. And a lot of them do.
This claim was easily rebutted when it was proved she was not in a Texas hospital, on welfare and demanding to vote for Obama.
SMH at all the fools who think this a chance to make a political statement. Get a life and stop worrying about the election. There is plenty of time to sling mud if you feel you must but find the right forum.
A lie coming out of Mexico??? I will never forget that when the H1N1 first started, Mexico initially reported 400 + deaths when the fact was more like 19 causing wordwide panic probably hoping for an enormous handout to help with their "epidemic". Never believe any news article from Mexico or about Mexico.
Why are so many of you still talking like she truly is pregnant? Have you not read the article? She didn't have triplets, she has three children years apart in age. After the third, she had her tubes tied (or something to keep from having more children, according to her mother). This woman obviously just needs counseling to help her with this need for massive attention by making up such a story.
People, read the article before you post your rants about what you think it said.
I find it interesting that none of you people actually read this article word for word, but use this forum as a means to post your opinion on what obviously DIDN'T HAPPEN. The article even says there were confirmations that the woman is NOT pregnant, that the story was false, and whoever phoned it in needs to come forward and say "Sorry, I F---ed up." Seriously folks try reading instead of skimming the page. Here in case you all missed it, here is an excerpt taken from the article.

Seriously guys, learn to read.
Seriously... for those unfamiliar with how the news comments work:
1) A story is posted and people comment on it
2) Corrections are made to the story, but the original comments are left untouched.
3) The UPDATED story then has several people who "came in late" who are confused about the first posts on the story.
You can see the date and time people posted at the bottom of each post. Then compare that with the date and time the latest "version" of the story was posted. It should all become crystal clear at that point. The majority of the posters DO read an entire story before posting. It just is not the same story that those who come after the revision are reading.
I was about to post the same thing 2 coppers. You would think with the comments being completely wrong factually according to the latest revision, that most would actually catch on. Evidently I gave to much credit to the posters. My guess is that many of those that could not figure out this amazing mystery are those that constantly post comments like "you can't fix stupid" et al .......... Indeed!!!!
THIS is good news. But she needs help if ahe would spread this lie.
